Chicken Asparagus Casserole

Ingredients:
6 whole Chicken Breasts, cooked
1 medium Onion, chopped
1/2 cup Butter
1 8-oz. can Mushrooms (or fresh equivalent)
1 10-oz. can Cream of Mushroom soup
1 10-oz. can Cream of Chicken soup
1 12-oz. can Evaporated Milk
1/2 lb. Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated
1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce
2 tsp. Soy Sauce
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Black Pepper, crushed
2 Tbsp. Pimentos
2 14.5 oz. cans Asparagus Spears (or fresh equivalent)
1/2 cup slivered almonds
Directions:
Cut chicken into bite-size pieces; set aside.
Sauté onion in butter in a large saucepan. Add remaining ingredients except chicken, asparagus, and almonds. Simmer sauce until cheese is melted.
Place a layer of chicken in a large 9x13 casserole dish, add a layer of asparagus, then top with sauce. Repeat layers ending with the sauce. Sprinkle with almond slivers.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until bubbly. Do not add any liquid, even if the casserole looks dry.
Serve over rice, biscuits, or with dumplings.
